As I explain in the book the motivation for this project was to unpack the concept of "explanatory universality" as it is outlined in "The Beginning of Infinity". As has been remarked on before, that book contains sentences that could be whole paragraphs, paragraphs that could be chapters and chapters that could be books. "The Farthest Reaches" goes further than that by taking seriously just a few sentences out of "The Beginning of Infinity" and following the logic of them into that many different topics that the list of applications and consequences grew into multiple hours of podcasts and ultimately a book. The book contains additional chapters, revisions, expansions and other material that goes beyond what was in the original podcast.
There are two versions of the file below: the standard pdf which should work on all devices, and an ePub file that works reasonably well in "Apple Books".
There is (or shortly shall be) an audiobook version of this book as well that is an entirely new recording and significant "upgrade" in quality from the original podcast and which follows the script of the book strictly. The book is free, as all my content is, but donations are welcome at www.bretthall.org
